Painted Lily – Main store closing

Hello!

It is with some sadness that I have to announce that the Painted Lily main store, at Switch, will be closing on 31st August 2010.

I have very much enjoyed over a year of creating, especially being able to celebrate, in June, the one year’s anniversary of opening my first shop. That will always be a memorable point in my Second Life experiences.

My thanks to all of you for the support and interest in Painted Lily over the last fourteen months. It has meant a great deal to me to be able to make things that people have enjoyed as part of their Second Life and I hope you will continue to do so.

Hello! This weekend I will be moving out of my gallery space at UrbanARTs; the fantastic creation of pitsch Parx of UrbanizeD. Since its opening in December 2009 UrbanARTs has been host to a changing array of  talented artists working in, and bringing their real-life works to, Second Life and I’ve felt tremendously fortunate to have had a temporary space there to show my pictures.

So if you’ve not had the chance to pick up the free picture ‘Lobis Loyo’ or the specially-created, only available at UrbanARTs, ‘Awaken from Winter’ please do take the chance to go along this weekend. I will be clearing the gallery space of all works on Sunday 11th July at around 12.00 p.m. (SLT) and after that they will be gone for good!

My huge thanks and gratitude go to pitsch for the tremendous amount of time and effort he gives to UrbanARTs so that new and lesser-known artists are provided with the opportunity to show or sell their works to a wider audience. It is projects like these that add richness and a wealth of experience for many people in Second Life. I encourage everyone to visit and enjoy the pictures, sculptures and other art forms on display.

Painted Lily First Anniversary

Hello! I have some new items out to mark a special occasion. June  2009 was when I first opened Painted Lily at Creators Pavillion (and also the now-gone shop at Fuzzy). To celebrate a year of creating I have two new pictures and two gifts.

The new pictures feature two hand-drawn sketches of cats, made by me and based on my rl cats, in a grunged up wall drawing style. Both pictures also include some text on the reverse side.

For the wool-playing cat it is one of the famous quotations from Michel de Montaigne’s ‘Essais’; “Quand je me joue à ma chatte, qui sait si elle passe son temps de moi plus que je ne fais d’elle?”

The cat waits picture has abridged lines from the William Wordsworth poem ‘The Kitten and the Falling Leaves’.

Both pictures are available at Switch and UrbanARTs.

Both pictures are Mod/Copy/No Transfer and come with an optional prim shadow which is also Mod and Copy.

How my garden grows is a free deco border, it contains two individual flower styles that can be used for interior or exterior decoration and a linked, two prim, border that can be used for a garden or outdoor decoration.

I’ve also made a free gift of the Bel canto special edition necklace which was made for the opening in May – Exotic lilies blossom.

Both items are also Copy/Mod/No Trans. (BP* Green Chest shown in picture is not included)

Bel canto official opening today!

Hello. The Bel canto boutique is now open! This is the direct landmark for Bel canto and you can also use the main Painted Lily landmark. Please note that if you use the Painted Lily landmark that the entrance door to the boutique is set on phantom, so you can walk right though it.

For the opening today I have put out an introductory offer of the Exotic lilies flower necklace. This is priced at 50L$, comes with spine and chest attachment versions and has a free demo to try first. The necklace is a special re-colour in a dusky rose pink, with a single vibrant pink lily flower and a twisted rope pattern necklace strand.

Bel canto – The lilies collection

Hello everyone. I’m happy to announce that the new Bel canto boutique will have its official opening at 1.00 a.m SLT (9.00 a.m GMT) Friday 14th May.

This post will be image heavy as I will be showing the first releases. Let me introduce the Bel canto lilies collection.

The White lilies flower necklace displays a single white lily on a patinated gold pendant with a golden thread-woven pattern necklace strand, while the White lilies blossom also displays three, free-falling, petals that trail towards the chest.

The Black lilies necklaces follow the collection design theme with the flower version presenting a single lily flower and the blossom version with three, free-falling petals but on an oxidized-shaded silver pendant and silver thread-woven pattern necklace strand.

The next necklace in this collection is one that has featured in a previous promotional photo and is a concept necklace called Black lilies petal storm.

The necklace strand and pendant share the same look as the Black lilies flower and blossom, but, with this necklace you are surrounded by a swirl of single petals reaching up to frame your face and hair as a gentle spiral of petals trails out behind you. Petal storm is only available in the oxidized-shaded silver colour and will be for sale individually and not part of the dual packs and fatpack.

All necklaces come as Mod/Copy/No Transfer and with a spine and chest attachment version included.

The vendors in store will sell the necklaces as single designs, dual packs featuring blossom and flower necklaces in the two colour schemes and one fatpack that will have have both necklace colour schemes and designs plus an added extra.

Free demos will be available for all necklace styles, so please do try one.

Bel canto – Launch date

Hello! I’m glad to announce what will be the official launch date of the new Bel canto mini-boutique on Friday 14th May. Construction is underway from today in the Painted Lily store at SWITCH but no vendors will be set out until the official opening.  The available range of necklaces, the Lilies collection, will be shown here in another post just before the launch.

One of the necklaces available  will be a concept design called Black lilies petal storm: a teaser/promo image of which is shown below.

Bel canto – A new look arriving soon

Hello everyone! I am delighted to write a special update on what has been in development for the last couple of months. I have been working on a new line of jewellery which will be released under the name of Bel canto. The first collection will be launched in May. A proper release date, and further details, will be announced within the Painted Lily group and via this blog. I’m showing here the first teaser/promotional ad which originally appeared on my Flickr stream on 3rd May.

Bel Canto - Arriving soon

To give a little  background to this project: previously I have created themed earrings under the Painted Lily name, these items are now retired, but in making them I became hooked on the idea of merging various forms into wearable accessories. Bel canto came to life out of the desire to create jewellery that uses organic and smoothly structured shapes, designs that have a highly-feminine, romantic, rich and bold style.

Bel canto jewellery will be available at a mini-boutique within the Painted Lily main store at Switch. Although it will be launched at the main store it will not replace the range of books, pictures and decorations currently on sale. Painted Lily will remain concentrated on home decor. The mini-boutique will be under construction in the near future, without closing the main store, so please excuse any inconvenience in your visit to Painted Lily whilst this is underway.

New picture – Walk in a dark forest

Hello everyone! A new picture is now out in the store at SWITCH and also at the UrbanARTs gallery. When I first started making pictures two of my earliest releases were Happy Girl Out and Sad Girl Out; both of which have been permanently retired since January this year. Somehow the shop didn’t feel quite the same without her there, so, I’ve bought her back in Walk in a dark forest.

The picture is unframed and comes as Copy/Modify/No Transfer, so it can be fitted with a frame if you prefer and re-sized to suit your space. There is also an optional prim shadow included, this is not linked to the picture, which is also Copy/Modify/No Transfer.

Today I have also put up a promotional advert of a new project, that is still in progress, on my Flickr account. This has been named Bel canto (which means beautiful song in Italian) and I will write more about this very soon in a separate post.
